Preparation

What matters before an epoxy floor is installed?

Good epoxy flooring starts below the shine. PASI Resin checks the concrete before colour, gloss or decorative flakes are applied.

Moisture check before epoxy floor installation

When clients compare epoxy flooring quotes in Zimbabwe, the finish is often what gets attention first. The hidden preparation work is what protects the investment. A glossy resin floor needs a slab that is dry enough, clean enough and stable enough to bond properly.

Moisture comes first.

Concrete can hold moisture even when the surface looks dry. If moisture is ignored, epoxy can blister, lift or turn cloudy. PASI Resin checks the slab condition before recommending metallic epoxy, garage flake epoxy or industrial coating systems.

Cracks and weak areas need attention.

Small cracks do not always mean a floor is unsuitable, but they should be assessed and repaired before coating. Loose edges, hollow patches and dusty concrete can reduce adhesion if they are covered too quickly.

Cleaning and primer matter.

Oil, paint, old adhesive and dust can interrupt the bond between resin and concrete. Preparation may include grinding, cleaning, crack filling and primer selection. The right primer helps the epoxy grip and gives the topcoat a cleaner finish.
